- Letter from Donna B. Serwin, 503 Cap Rock, Richardson, Tx 75080 dated Nov 18, 1981: I will try to tell you what I know about my Rebecca. I do not know all of her children. She was shown on the 1850 Scott Co, Ar census married to William Kellogg who was born in Ar. They had 2 children, MaryI. age 2 and Minirva age 1, both born in Ar. My great-grandfather, Stephen Kellogg, was born April 18, 1853 according to family information and his death certificate. My aunt told us that his mother's name was Rebecca Oller. He was supposedly born near Mene, Ar. He died August 1, 1941, buried in Coleman, Tx. Cemetery, no marker. According to family info he had one sister, Millie Ann Kellogg Hamilton. She is supposed to be buried in Coryell Co, Tx. Walnut Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, but I have no dates on her birth or death.
I have not been able to check out that cemetery yet, but I will. And I do not know if she is one of the daughters listed on the 1850 census or if she was born later. She possibly may have been born near Little Rock. Rebecca's husband, Willian Kellogg, supposedly was killed in the Civil War although we have found no record yet--we are still searching. She then married Wind Gaston.
I found them in Bastrop Co, Tx in 1870--no children other than Steve Kellogg with them then. But according to family members, she had a son by Gaston named Bev Gaston. He was raised by my great-grandfather, Steve Kellogg. I assume she is buried somewhere in the Bastrop, Tx area, but have not been able to sear hit yet--but someday I will!
So all I know for sure is 4 children--Mary, Minerva (assuming that MillieAnn is one of those girls), Steve Kellogg, and Bev Gaston.
