Text | HUGH O'CONNOR Deceased Was Widely Known In Scottsbluff, Having Three Daughters Who Now Reside Here. The death of Hugh O'Connor, widely known Scottsbluff resident and property owner, occurred Sunday morning at Hot Springs, S.D. His demise resulted from declining health which recent trips for its benefit failed to overcome. He had been in Hot Springs for some time in the hope that he might recover. The body was brought to Scottsbluff yesterday and funeral services will be held at 9:00 o'clock this morning from the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Chas. Zoellner, followed by services at the Catholic church at 9:30 o'clock. Burial will be made in Fairview cemetery. Besides the large number of friends here who will be saddened by the news of his death, the deceased is survived by eight children, four boys and four girls; Mrs. Chas. Zoellner, Mrs. August Dormann and Miss Margaret O'Connor, all of Scottsbluff; Mrs. M.H. Lovett, Stronghurst, Ill.; James O'Connor of Casper; Charles of San Francisco; John of Niobrara, and Hugh of El Paso, Tex. Hugh O'Connor was born at Scranton, Pa., May 2, 1855. He spent his boyhood here, later moving to Wisner, Nebr., and then to Scottsbluff, where he spent the last 17 years of his life. Mr. O'Connor was one of the progressive business men of the city, being intereste4d in business property here, and always a consistent booster for the city which he called his home. His passing will be mourned by his many friends, who extend their heartfelt sympathy to his bereaved ones in their hour of sorrow. | |
