Text | MRS. F. P. SMITH Services for Mrs. F. P. "Tossa" Lappin Smith, 82, 706 E. 9th, Ada, will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the First Baptist Church of Allen. Mrs. Smith died Wednesday afternoon in an Ada nursing home following a six months' illiness. She was born in Black Oak, Ill., Oct. 4, 1885, daughter of James Rowley and Jane Billings Rowley. She came to Ada in 1911 from Pike County, Ill. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Bryce Luke, Allen; a son, George Lappin, Whittier, Calif.; two brothers, Dr. E. A. Rowley, Amarillo, Tex., and Earl Rowley, Blythe, Calif.; two grandchildren, JoAnn Shaw, Oklahoma City, and Carol Lappin, Whittier, Calif. The Rev. David Forrester will conduct the services. Guy Pegg, Marlan Johnson, Sam Bingham, T. E. Hixon, Graydon Rogers and Gary Reed will be casketbearers. M. O. Cook, H. J. McKenzie, Fred Kimbrough, Odus Vinson, Horace Hamilton and Odus Mitchell will be honorary bearers. Burial will be in the Allen Cemetery. Criswell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. | |
