Text | ISA DORA BRECHTEL Isa Dora Fairall, daughter of Kimball and Mariah Fairall, was born May 8th, 1878 near Leon, Decatur County, Iowa, and departed this life at the University Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa, October 12, 1936, at the age of 58 years, 5 months and 4 days. She was united in marriage to Joseph Brechtel on July 3, 1897. To this union were born three children, namely: John of Weldon, Mrs. Roy Wilson of Winterset, Iowa, and Maurice still at home. Besides her companion and children she leaves to mourn her departure, five grandchildren, two brothers and four sisters; John of Deming, New Mexico; Sam of Humeston, Iowa; Cora of Garden Grove, Iowa; Artha of Stockton, Calif; and Ola of Morrill, Nebraska. Her father and mother and one brother, William Edgar, age 2 years having preceded her in death. In her girlhood she confessed her faith in Christ and united with the Christian church at Weldon, of which she continued to be a member until her death. She was devoted in her family, was a kind and loving mother, and her every thought was for their happiness and welfare. She never was so happy as when she was with them. Her memory will be cherished by those who knew her best. She was a patient sufferer during her sickness. All that loving hands and medical aid could do were done for her, but it was to no avail. It was the Master's will that she come home. Mother Brechtel spent most of her life in and around Weldon. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Chapter No. 430 of Weldon and a member of Thursday Reading Club. She leaves a host of friends and other relatives to mourn her loss. "Our Prayer" -- He has called you home from us, Mother; To that home so bright and fair. We know the Angels are happier since you joined them there. You have earned your rest, Mother Dear; From this life of care and woe; But Heaven is far richer. While our hearts ache here below. We will join you later, Mother; Just a little while `twill seem. So until the--God bless you; And ever peaceful dreams. Those from our of town attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Gus Fuller and Mrs. Jim Boggs of Woodburn; Mr. and Mrs. Will Deitrick of Osceola and Mrs. Cecil Wright of Leon. Funeral services were held at the Christian church at Weldon and interment at the Green Bay cemetery. | |
