  Jill Adair: 1) I believe Allen died in Hamilton, Marion Co., AL instead of Spartanburg. We know Allen left SC abt 1818, and his 2 children after that date were born in AL. 2) I have that Missouri Bishop was born in 1818 and not 1808. She married in 1838, probably at 20 and not 30. 3) James Bishop's middle name was Merrick and he married Patience Lewis on 14 Sep 1842. 4) I think there was one more son -- Allen, Jr. born 1811 in Spartanburg. Kennedy: left Spartanburg Sunday, 13 Sept 1818, for AL I believe that John Allen Bishop who married Dorcas (Dorcus) (Paulk) Polk was Allen Bishop, Jr., son of Allen Bishop and Margaret "Peggy" Lewis. The computer records show the Bishop who married Dorcas Polk only as Allen; not sure where I got the second name "John". That would mean that Allen Bishop who married Margaret Lewis probably was John Allen, and everything (name, place, dates) fits perfectly........DNB impossible other source: d. 1869 Hamilton, Marion Co., AL
