  In the Greenville (SC) Mountaineer, the January 5, 1838 issue, there was the following: Married on Dec. 3rd by H. Hicks Esq., Mr. Barney Bishop to Miss Amy Gilbert, all of Spartanburg District. This might be either Burnie Bishop or an unknown son of Burnett "Barney" Bishop, the latter the more likely.
